It’s so clear to me now. I just went for a walk/jog on the treadmill, right? Well, that walk/jog ended up a run in the last 10 minutes. I have never ran for 10 minutes in my life (exercise-induced asthma). And I feel so great. I was listening to music, I was pumped. I was sweatier than ever and kept pushing myself, upping the speed higher and higher. It felt freeing and wonderful. And right after I finished my 10 minutes, and was cooling down, I realized that the foods you crave after a workout aren’t the unhealthy ones. They’re not the chips, cake, pizza. They’re fruits, veggies, water, and the like. That’s what treats your body right, and what a body naturally craves has never been more obvious to me than when I was cooling down after that run.
I’m so glad I decided to exercise after I ate those chips today, because it ended in a total learning experience. I think it will be overall easier now for me to choose foods that are right for me after this. Not only that, but I feel so good about myself! My mood is fantastic, my body feels awesome, and I also feel an increase in self esteem (I look pretty damn cute all sweaty and red, if I do say so myself!). This is definitely motivation to keep exercising. Now I know why people do it!
